The first chapter was just the beginning♥
PFLAG Tampa launched its scholarship program to invest directly in LGBTQ+ students and allies pursuing what comes next. Our first award cycle supported three outstanding Tampa Bay scholars, and we are working to make the next one possible.
Our first scholars.
Three students. Three different paths forward. One shared belief that LGBTQ+ young people deserve support, opportunity, and people in their corner.
We are working to bring it back.
The funding that made our first scholarship round possible is no longer available. Rather than quietly letting the program disappear, PFLAG Tampa is working to secure replacement support so we can reopen applications and invest in another group of local students.
Built around potential, not perfection.
The original PFLAG Tampa Scholarship was designed to recognize LGBTQ+ people and allies who show leadership, resilience, future goals, and a commitment to community. Academic achievement alone was never the point.
Future award amounts, eligibility, application requirements, and timelines may differ when the program reopens. Updated criteria will be published before a new application cycle begins.

A few quick answers.
Are scholarship applications open right now?
No. Applications are currently paused while PFLAG Tampa works to secure replacement funding for the program.
When will the next application cycle open?
We do not have a date to announce yet. We will publish updated details once funding and the next award cycle are confirmed.
Will the same eligibility rules apply next time?
Not necessarily. The original program provides the foundation, but award amounts, eligibility, requirements, and timelines may be updated before the next cycle.
Can I help fund the next round?
Yes. We welcome conversations with individuals, companies, foundations, and community partners interested in helping PFLAG Tampa reopen the scholarship program.
