PFLAG Tampa 2022-2023 Scholarship Program Overview

For many LGBTQ+ youth, the journey to adulthood is lacking in support from family, friends, and schools. Potential leaders, with incredibly varied educational goals and experiences, are oftentimes hampered by a lack of support systems, socioeconomic barriers, social anxiety, family isolation, homelessness, and many other challenges. These challenges are only more heightened for BIPOC folks. PFLAG Tampa sees you, and we also see LGBTQ+ high school allies working towards providing safe and supportive environments for their LGBTQ+ families and friends.

This scholarship program recognizes LGBTQ+ individuals and allies who are leaders in the LGBTQ+ community, or who have experienced unique obstacles when attempting to further educational goals. Understanding that high school can be particularly challenging for LGBTQ+ students and advocates, the PFLAG Tampa Scholarship has no academic achievement requirements. Rather, PFLAG Tampa is interested in knowing your dreams, how you intend to achieve them, and how you will be an asset to the LGBTQ+ community.

Good luck! We want to hear from YOU!
